First Experience

Although being from the Marine Industry, one should say i should be able to understand the difficulties of working in this industry. Still, for the sailing/ boating industry, the issue is even made worse that boat or at least small sailboat owners are super wealthy and as such are able to spend an unlimited amount of money. This too is compounded that the sailing community in general consists of persons who come from generally first-world countries where they have higher cost of living. And the common thing is if we slap on a tag, “for marine use” things just seem to get a lot more expensive!

i have often been asked how much all these repairs and upgrades cost me. All I can say is that in hindsight, I could have got a much newer boat or a boat more ready for what specific use it was intended for.

Therefore, to those newbies reading my blog, the first and most important thing to note when buying your boat, or future boat, is understanding what you would like to use it for.

Then comes the price and whether one can afford it.

This is a very long topic and is riddled with many questions and different for a different person
